Fiano among the hills of Avellino

The Irpinian denomination offers a named Italian setting for the grape.

Fiano is the principal grape of Fiano di Avellino. Its hill territory includes varied ground: volcanic ash and pumice, clay, marl and limestone occur in different areas. Vineyards occupy the belt between mountain groups to the west and east. This geographical variety provides a useful introduction to Fiano through a specifically defined Campanian wine.
