Primitivo di Manduria DOC is a red-wine denomination from a defined area of Taranto and Brindisi provinces.

Primitivo is the principal grape of Primitivo di Manduria. Its territory brings together the Ionian arc and part of the Salento peninsula. The landscape steps towards the coast, with deeper clay-rich ground giving way in places to thinner sandy soils. Vineyards, fields and olive groves form a mosaic across this delimited part of southern Puglia.
Riserva requires at least 24 months of maturation, including nine in wood, from November 1 of the grape-harvest year. These requirements belong to the DOC Riserva, rather than the separate Dolce Naturale DOCG.
The grape zone comprises suitable land in specified territories of Taranto and Brindisi provinces, including Manduria and neighboring municipalities, within the detailed boundary.
