Friulano

Friulano leads the blend in Rosazzo DOCG, where it shares the vineyard composition with Sauvignon and Pinot Bianco and/or Chardonnay.

Friulano as the center of a blend

Rosazzo gives it a leading, rather than exclusive, role.

Rosazzo DOCG requires Friulano for at least half of its vineyard blend. Sauvignon and Pinot Bianco and/or Chardonnay also have defined shares, while Ribolla Gialla is permitted in a smaller contribution. This example shows Friulano working alongside other white grapes; Rosazzo should not be read as a promise of a wine made solely from Friulano.

An Italian wine setting

The Rosazzo grape area is delimited in the province of Udine around the local roads, streams and municipal boundaries described in the specification, including the Manzano and Corno di Rosazzo area. It is a defined wine zone, rather than all of Friuli.
