Garibaldi

Campari and fresh orange juice, nothing else. Named for the general who unified Italy: the bitter from Milan in the north, the oranges from Sicily in the south.

With only two ingredients, each has to be right: Campari, and orange juice squeezed just before you shake. Shaking hard for 15 to 20 seconds aerates the juice until it turns soft and foamy, the fluffy texture this recipe is after. Taste your oranges first: sweeter fruit can take a little more than 45 ml of Campari.

Lombardy

Campari presents the Garibaldi as a meeting of the north and south: its Milan bitter with Sicilian oranges. Use freshly squeezed orange juice and serve it over ice.
