Garganega is the principal grape of Soave. The vineyards occupy the landscape where the Lessini hills meet the plain, with much of the soil derived from weathered basalt. These dark, often clay-rich soils are part of the territory’s distinctive ground. Vineyards range from the foot of the hills to higher slopes, with differing aspects across the zone.
The grape zone includes whole or specified parts of municipalities in Verona province, including Soave, Monteforte d’Alpone and San Bonifacio, within the detailed boundary.
