One grape, red and rosato

Teroldego Rotaliano shows two forms of the same named grape.

The Teroldego Rotaliano specification requires grapes of the Teroldego variety. It recognizes red wine, also called Rubino, and rosato, also called Kretzer, alongside Superiore and Superiore Riserva. The style wording matters when exploring this denomination: the grape name alone does not tell you whether the bottle is red or rosato.

An Italian wine setting

Teroldego Rotaliano comes from a delimited portion of the Campo Rotaliano within Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona and Grumo, a hamlet of San Michele all’Adige. This is a precise Trentino wine area, rather than the distribution of every Teroldego vine.
