Ruchè in a small Monferrato territory

Seven Asti municipalities provide a closely defined Italian reference.

Ruchè leads the grape base of Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato. Low wooded hills and soils between Monferrato marl and Asti sands give this small area its setting. The modern dry-wine expression developed with the work of parish priest Luigi Cauda in Castagnole Monferrato during the 1960s. The denomination offers a local route into the grape’s wine story.

The Castagnole Monferrato example

The denomination’s grape zone covers Castagnole Monferrato, Grana, Montemagno, Portacomaro, Refrancore, Scurzolengo and Viarigi in Asti province.
