A small Monferrato home for Ruchè
Low wooded hills surround the seven municipalities of the denomination.
Ruchè is the principal grape of this small Asti Monferrato denomination. The territory sits on the left bank of the Tanaro, among low hills and woodland. Its soils mark a transition between Monferrato marls and Pliocene Asti sands. In the twentieth century, the work of parish priest Luigi Cauda in Castagnole Monferrato helped establish the grape’s modern dry-wine expression.
