Ribolla Gialla with a Rosazzo name

A subzone adds geographic detail to the grape.

Friuli Colli Orientali recognizes Ribolla Gialla as a varietal wine and also defines the more specific Ribolla Gialla di Rosazzo. The Rosazzo subzone is based on Ribolla Gialla, with other suitable grapes of the same color permitted up to 15%. The longer label connects the grape to a particular delimited area without making the wine obligatorily single-variety.

An Italian wine setting

The Ribolla Gialla di Rosazzo subzone has its own boundary within the Colli Orientali, described through the roads, streams and slopes near Manzano and the abbey area. It is narrower than the whole Friuli Colli Orientali denomination.
