Dolcetto along the Orba hills
Ovada’s hill country gives a pure Dolcetto wine its home.
Ovada, also named Dolcetto di Ovada Superiore, is made entirely from Dolcetto. Its vineyards follow the hills around the Orba river in southern Piedmont. Clay, limestone and tuff occur in different combinations, with vines trained on traditional trellises. The town of Ovada anchors a denomination that reaches across the surrounding Monferrato hill country.
