Sangiovese and Cabernet on the Montalbano
Carmignano’s Tuscan blend has a defined place for Cabernet alongside Sangiovese.
Sangiovese leads Carmignano, while Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon or a combination of the two forms a required part of its grape base. The vineyards belong to the hills of the Montalbano, where sandstone, clay-rich formations and marly limestone create varied terrain. It is a local Tuscan identity with its own blend.
