Arneis kept in the hills
Terre Alfieri links the hills of Asti and the Roero with growers who kept a local grape in cultivation.
Terre Alfieri brings together vineyards in the Colline Alfieri communities of the province of Asti and in Roero communities in the province of Cuneo. Its wine culture belongs to this meeting of neighboring Piedmontese hills.
Arneis survived locally in small quantities through the persistence of growers who continued to cultivate it. The renewal of Arneis vineyards carried that part of local farming history forward, giving an older rural tradition a place in the area’s wine production.
