Campari’s Americano recipe combines Campari and sweet vermouth with a splash of soda, built over ice and garnished with orange. South Tyrol’s Hugo recipe also calls for a splash. Treat the soda as part of the recipe, not a fixed proportion shared by every aperitivo.
