Roero Arneis is the Arneis-led white branch of Roero DOCG, with Riserva and sparkling styles.
The white grape finds different exposures on the Tanaro’s left-bank hills.
Arneis is the principal grape of Roero’s white wines. Here, sandy layers alternate with marl, clay and limestone in a landscape shaped by the Tanaro’s changing course. Arneis vineyards can occupy both southern slopes and cooler northern exposures. The same grape also supplies the denomination’s sparkling white wines, giving several expressions to this shared hill country.
The grape area lies on the Tanaro’s left bank in Cuneo province. It includes four whole municipalities and defined parts of fifteen others.
