Garganega on Gambellara’s volcanic ground
The last slopes of the Lessini frame a wine made from one grape.
Recioto di Gambellara is made entirely from Garganega. Its hill country lies at the opening of the Chiampo valley, near the boundary between Vicenza and Verona. Volcanic ground is prominent, with basalt and clay-rich soils, while limestone occurs in some higher positions. The vineyard landscape combines rounded ridges, slopes and small stream valleys.
