An optional place in Bardolino

Molinara can contribute without being required.

Bardolino DOC gives Molinara a specific allowance within its red-grape blend: it can be present up to 15%. The specification requires Corvina and Rondinella, with a permitted Corvinone substitution for part of the Corvina, but does not require Molinara. Its role here is a blending possibility, rather than proof that every Bardolino contains it.

An Italian wine setting

The Bardolino example belongs to the delimited Verona-province area that includes all or part of Bardolino, Garda, Lazise and other listed municipalities. Its geographic scope is that denomination’s production zone.
