Corvina in the Valpolicella blend

The Veronese denomination shows the grape in a shared red-wine base.

Valpolicella places Corvina alongside Corvinone and Rondinella in its grape rules. The combined Corvina or Corvinone share forms the core of the blend, so the wine name alone does not guarantee Corvina in every bottle. The surrounding foothills contain limestone, basalt and river or moraine deposits. This is a useful regional reference for understanding the grape’s permitted role.

The Valpolicella grape rule

The 45–95% vineyard share applies to Corvina and/or Corvinone together. It is not a minimum for Corvina alone; Rondinella is also required at 5–30%.

The Valpolicella reference

The denomination’s grape area covers whole or specified parts of listed municipalities in Verona province, across its delimited foothill belt.
