Gaglioppo along Calabria’s Ionian side

Cirò gives the grape a documented role in red and rosé wines.

Gaglioppo is the principal grape of Cirò’s red and rosé wines. The territory connects the Ionian coastline with its inland hills towards the first slopes of the Sila. Coastal terraces give way to rolling hills, with sand and conglomerate formations in the interior. Cirò provides a named Calabrian landscape through which to explore the grape.

The Cirò example

The grape area includes all of Cirò and Cirò Marina and defined parts of Melissa and Crucoli, in Crotone province.
