Nuragus through southern Sardinian landscapes

Nuragus di Cagliari gives the grape a place among Sardinia’s white wines.

Nuragus is the principal grape of Nuragus di Cagliari, whose styles include still and lightly sparkling wine. The territory is geologically varied, with granite and porphyry in the southeast, marl and sandstone around Parteolla and Trexenta, and alluvial ground in the Campidano. Exploring the named wine shows how one grape can occupy several Sardinian vineyard environments.

The Cagliari denomination example

The denomination’s grape zone covers listed municipalities in southern and central-western Sardinia. Its production area is defined by that municipal list, rather than by Cagliari city alone.
