Regione Piemonte records the Bionda Piemontese among its traditional poultry breeds and traces a recovery program to the agricultural school in Verzuolo in 1999. It describes the Bionda and Bianca di Saluzzo as hardy birds traditionally raised outdoors, with grazing supplemented by cereals. For older laying hens, the regional article points to bollito and fresh-pasta fillings.
