A steel cable strung across the gorge between Pietrapertosa and Castelmezzano, two of Italy's most striking hilltop villages perched in the sandstone spires of the Lucanian Dolomites, lets riders cross it prone, harnessed and alone, at speeds that can reach 120 kilometers an hour.
